Bid on a Locally Raised Steer at the 2024 Eastern Sierra Jr Livestock Show

2024 Eastern Sierra Jr Livestock Show Bishop ffa

Dear potential buyer,

My name is Madi Benninger and the photos you see in this letter are of my locally bred and fed steer, Michael, that I’ve been raising since October 2023. I just completed my sophomore year at Bishop Union High School, I am a member of the Bishop FFA Chapter, and I am raising a market beef project for the 2024 Eastern Sierra Jr Livestock Show. This is my third year raising a steer and I am having a great experience! I purchased a black angus steer, Michael, from the FFA farm. I have been doing all the feeding, bathing, and walking of my steer. Through being involved with this project and FFA, I have learned commitment, responsibility, teamwork, and leadership skills.

Along with raising my steer, I was the ASB Treasurer, the FFA treasurer, I was on the BUHS Volleyball team, I played club volleyball, and I am a certified lifeguard at the City Pool and will be working there this summer. FFA has taught me so much and I plan to continue raising cattle for the next two years of my high school career. I hope to attend a college, such as Cal Poly SLO, where I can continue my agricultural career.

It is my hope that you could attend the auction and bid on my steer. He is 1,250 lbs as of June 13th. The auction will be held on Saturday, June 29th at 1 p.m. at the fairgrounds with the buyer’s preview beginning at 11 a.m. The money earned from the sale of my animal will go towards future FFA projects and add to my college fund to help pay for college expenses. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions about my project steer, please feel free to contact me at (760) 937-8222. I can be reached by email at [email protected] or feel free to come by the farm and I can show you my animal in person. Thank you for your time and support.

Sincerely,

Madison Benninger
