State Route 58 Closed Over Tehachapi Pass
TEHACHAPI – Due to vehicle spinouts, jackknifed big rigs, and multiple vehicle collisions, Caltrans and the CHP have closed State Route 58 over Tehachapi Pass in eastern Kern County. The highway is closed from Towerline Road east of Bakersfield to Exit 165 north of Mojave. State Route 178 is open as a detour around the closure, though drivers should be prepared for chain control restrictions as the storm continues to move through the area.
