Ardi was born June 30, 1932 in Santa Maria California, to Nora Brighenti Wall and Porter Wall. She was 91 when she passed at her home on October 18, 2023. Ardi spent her early years in Santa Barbara, where her love of horses started. A passion that she passed down to her granddaughters, Corey Buffington and Lianne Talbot and great granddaughters, Reese and Logynn Buffington. Ardi was still riding horses this pass June on her 91st Birthday. Ardi moved to Bishop in 1946. She married George M. Hitchborn in 1949, they were married for 64 years when George passed away in 2013.
Ardi and George moved to the San Fernando Valley where they started their family and lived until 1970 when they had the opportunity to buy the Foster Freeze in Bishop and move home to Bishop. Ardi opened the Inyo Country Store and Café, where she and her son Bill and daughter in-law Lorna worked until 2006 when she retired.
Ardis is survived by her 3 sons and 1 daughter. Glen Hitchborn of Forest Grove, Oregon, Alan (Denise) Hitchborn of North Vancouver, B.C. Canada, Bill (Lorna) Hitchborn of Sparks, Nevada, Lisa (Bill) Yeager, of Bishop. Eleven grandchildren, Corey (Joe) Buffington, Lianne (Chris) Talbot , Jessica Hitchborn, Nathaniel (Katherine)Hitchborn, George (Amber) Hitchborn, Tara Carapia, Samuel Hitchborn, Laurel Hitchborn, Michael (Corinna) Hitchborn, Curry (Taline) Hitchborn, Justin ( Stephanie) Hitchborn, 12 great grandchildren and good family friend Anita Sonke. The Family would like to Thank Dr. Richardson for his care of our parents through the years.
