Jackie Blackamore from Eastern Sierra Realty
As part of our ongoing series, we are interviewing people of interest in the community who are having a positive impact on the lives around them.
This time we are spotlighting Jackie Blackamore from Eastern Sierra Realty!

Hi Jackie, can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what drew you into the real estate profession?
Hi Tanner! Absolutely. I was born and raised in Bishop and during my time here I worked at Perry Motors. I received my BS in Business Marketing and minor in International business from CSU Chico and did part of my education at Kedge Institute in Bordeaux, France. During my time in school, I worked on and off at Inyo Mono Title where I had the great pleasure of working with buyers, sellers and was introduced to, real estate agents. I loved seeing the role of an agent as a matchmaker for buyers and sellers. Post college, I worked my first sales position for Peloton where I was trained in product knowledge, processes, methodology and techniques. When COVID hit, our office shut down in San Francisco and after traveling in Baja for about 3 months with my husband, I decided to pursue a career in real estate. If you know me, you know I am a go getter and passionate about life.
How can the market and buying a home in the Owens Valley be different than in other areas?
It is the gateway to the Eastern Sierras, the ultimate destination for climbers, and the epicenter for fishing. It’s home to majestic trails and numerous 14ers, including Mt. Whitney. It’s a hidden paradise on Earth. People from all over the world come to visit, and I believe it will become increasingly difficult to purchase in this area.
What advice do you have for first-time homebuyers in our area?
The idea is to get your foot in the door. I feel that most of us want to go straight into our dream home but to get there, we need to start off in something we can truly afford. You don’t want to be house poor. Set yourself up so that 4 or 5 years from now, you can use that equity in that home you own and put it towards your dream home.
Are there any neighborhoods or areas in particular that are seeing increased interest from buyers?
I believe that Bishop, as a whole, has been attracting more buyers, especially since remote work has become more common and people are intrigued by what our area has to offer.
How has technology changed the way you do business as a real estate agent?
Technology, in my office, has allowed us to be more efficient.
For prospective buyers and sellers, what is the best way for someone to contact you and your team?
You can reach me at (760) 428-1254 or at our office at (760) 873-4161.
A special thank you to Jackie Blackamore for answering our questions!
