SIERRA LIFEFLIGHT EXPANDS FIXED-WING SERVICES TO MAMMOTH LAKES REGION
Fixed-wing medically equipped aircraft now based at Mammoth Yosemite Airport
(MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif.) – Sierra Lifeflight, a REACH Air Medical Services (REACH) brand, is pleased to announce it has based a medically configured Pilatus PC-12 at Mammoth Yosemite Airport, expanding availability of air medical services into the region. This fixed-wing asset, which began service from the airport May 4, will greatly increase service and decrease response times into the Mammoth Lakes area and Northern Mono County.
“We are thrilled to expand our service area within Mono County,” said Michael Patterson, regional director of operations for REACH. “By basing one of our two medical airplanes at Mammoth Yosemite Airport, we increase access to care for patients, especially for those in Mammoth Lakes, June Lake, Crowley Lake and Northern Mono County.”
The Mammoth Yosemite Airport base is operational during the day and staffed by highly trained and experienced pilots, flight nurses and flight paramedics. The Pilatus PC-12 operated at this base is medically configured with the latest avionics and safety features.
REACH is a participating provider in the AirMedCare Network (AMCN), the nation’s largest air medical transport membership program with more than 320 air medical locations across 38 states. Members have no out-of-pocket costs for the flight only if flown by an AMCN participating provider for a life-or limb-threatening injury or illness. Whatever the member’s insurance or third-party insurance pays is considered payment in full. Annual memberships start at $99.
