Mono County Community Support Grant Programs
Applications Now Open
Mono County, through its Economic Development, Tourism, and Film Commission, is pleased to announce the availability of funding from three Community Support Grant Programs.
Each is a reimbursement program designed to support organized, established non-profit organizations in Mono County. Funding is identified in the 2025-26 fiscal year (FY) budget adopted on September 9th by the Board of Supervisors.
- Community Event Marketing Fund (CEMF): a reimbursement program to support established non-profit groups that may require additional revenue to advertise and promote tourism-based community events to markets outside the Eastern Sierra. The goal of this program to increase year-round visitation and overnight stays in Mono County which provide economic benefit to the region. Primary consideration will be given to those that take place in the less busy “shoulder” seasons. Up to $5,000 in funding on a reimbursement basis is available per event, although additional funds may be awarded depending on the total amount allocated to each community. Total funding available for the FY 25-26 CEMF is $25,000.
- Historical Societies Grant Program (HSGP): a reimbursement program to support established non-profit historical societies and museums in Mono County with eligible projects and programs. Up to $4,000 in funding on a reimbursement basis is available per organization, determined by the scope of the project and needs. Additional funds may be awarded depending on the total number of applications. Total funding available for the FY 25-26 HSGP is $14,000.
- Performing & Visual Arts Grant Program (PVAG): a reimbursement program to support established non-profit Performing and Visual Arts organizations in Mono County with eligible projects and programs. Up to $4,500 in funding on a reimbursement basis is available per organization, determined by the scope of the project and needs. Additional funds may be awarded depending on the total number of applications. Total funding available for the FY 25-26 PVAGP is $25,000.

New This Year: Extended Timeline for HSGP & PVAG Grants
Starting in Fiscal Year 2025–26, Historical Societies Grant Program (HSGP) and Performing & Visual Arts Grant (PVAG) funds may roll into the next fiscal year. This allows grantees to plan and carry out projects, programming, or events anytime within the full calendar year (through December 31) rather than being limited to completion by June 30.
Important Requirements to Note:
- Project End Date: Applicants must specify when their project, program, or event will be complete, and when they plan to submit for reimbursement.
- Fiscal-Year Commitment:
- If your project will be completed by June 30, funds will be reimbursed within the current fiscal year.
- If your project will be completed between July 1 and December 31, funds will be rolled over and reimbursed in the next fiscal year.
- Reimbursement Timing Cannot Change: Once funds are committed to a fiscal year, the reimbursement must occur in that fiscal year. We cannot reimburse early or late.
- Example: If your project is committed to the current fiscal year, it must be completed by June 30 (reimbursements and reports can be submitted in July). If your project is committed to the next fiscal year, reimbursement cannot happen until after July 1. If your timeline shifts, we cannot move your reimbursement from one fiscal year to another.
- Reimbursement & Reporting: All reimbursements are made after the project is complete and only upon submission of a final report.
This change provides more flexibility for project planning and timing—but it also means applicants must plan carefully and be very clear about their timelines.

2026 Event Dates Needed

Every year, we print 6,000–8,000 calendars to distribute at consumer tradeshows and by mail. These hugely popular calendars are a great (and free!) way to promote your event.
We include as many events as space allows on the printed calendar, and all events are always listed on the MonoCounty.org events calendar.
Please send us your 2026 event dates as soon as possible—and no later than December 5, 2025—for inclusion (as space allows) in the printed calendar .
For the website calendar, we’ll gladly take event submissions anytime!
Send events to [email protected]. Thank you!
