MONO COUNTY, Calif. (August 17, 2022) – On August 9, 2022, the Mono County Board of Supervisors adopted a Resolution approving an employment contract with Megan M. Chapman as Mono County’s first Budget Officer.  Under direction of the County Administrative Officer, the Budget Officer is responsible for developing and managing all aspects of the countywide budget.  Ms. Chapman most recently served as an Accountant III for Mono County.

“Effectively managing our budget is critical to ensuring we deliver outstanding community services while stewarding and protecting our financial resources,” said Bob Gardner, Chair of the Mono County Board of Supervisors.  “I am grateful that the county prioritized this important position, and have every confidence that Megan will excel in this new role.”

Ms. Chapman has been with Mono County for nearly a decade, executing the day-to-day accounting and financial activities for a number of Departments and Commissions.  In addition to her professional service, she has served in a number of volunteer leadership roles, and on the Board of Directors for a number of local community organizations.  Ms. Chapman enjoys local outdoor activities and when not working can most likely be found recreating in the local area.  Megan received her undergraduate degree from the Boston College Carrol School of Management, as well as post graduate education in accounting from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).

“I look forward to serving Mono County in this new role and providing accountability and transparency in government through the annual budget process,” said Ms. Chapman.
