Camping Updates and Reminders

Dear Millpond Friends,
We were so happy to have heard from so many of you already, and to know that you are excited for this years festival! It seems there has been some confusion around our camping procedures and the way that we assign camping spots, and so we’d like to clarify some information.
The ONLY camping area where priority was given to last years campers was in Brown’s campground IF AND ONLY IF campers called in on the first day of ticket sales. All other sites are assigned based on availability with your first and second camping choices in mind. We do our best to give you the spot that you want, but we cannot always guarantee that you will get your first choice due to limited camp sites.
This year the Tennis Courts were in extremely high demand. If you called early and requested a spot there, our response may have been a simple ok, not realizing that we would receive so many requests. It became apparent pretty quickly that requests were going to outnumber available spaces. This is why we started asking for your second preference. Please know that we were well aware that many people were unable to get through, and we do not give preference to anyone based on the time you called. Any one that called or left a message on that day was given equal consideration when we began assigning spaces at the end of the day.
We have also been made aware of some confusion regarding your Square receipt – mostly about dogs. Dogs are allowed in the Brown’s campground only. No dogs are allowed outside of the campground with the exception of service dogs as defined by the ADA.
Brown’s, Tennis Courts, and Shoreline sites are now SOLD OUT.
We still have approximately 30 spots left at Sage Flat, and 15 or so in Overflow. We do not expect tent spots at Pondside or Forest to sell out.
A few camping reminders – If you purchased a spot in Brown’s Millpond campground – your reservation is for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. If you need additional nights at Brown’s, please call them directly at 760-873-5342.
If you purchased space in any other area, your camping tag is valid for Friday and Saturday nights only. If you wish to stay Thursday or Sunday nights, you may do so by purchasing at the festival. Price is $20 per night. ICA staff and volunteers will be visiting sites to sell you your additional tag for those nights. No camps may be set up before 2:00 pm on Thursday – not even your little chair. Please refrain from challenging the folks helping us with this at any time.
Anyone who has already made their ticket order should receive their tickets and camp tags in the mail by the end of this month. After your card is run for purchase, you should receive an email or text receipt that will tell you which site you were placed in.
-Every tent and trailer/RV in the camping areas must display an appropriate camping tag.
-No campsites are sold without a festival purchase.
You may place your orders by phone, by mail, or by fax:
(760)873-8014 (phone)
150 Willow St. Bishop, CA 93514
(760)873-5518 (fax)
We will send an announcement when online ticket sales are available.
Our website is has updated information about camping procedures and FAQS for your convenience. Just visit inyo.org or call or email us with any questions. We are happy to answer them.
All current California and Inyo County Department of Public Health guidelines must be followed. Guidelines can be found here. Please be prepared to follow any new mask requirements and/or social distancing measures if these guidelines change. If you are not prepared to follow these guidelines, please do not buy a ticket as there are no refunds. We will keep you updated to the best of our ability if things potentially change before the festival.
