TOML/Mono County Winter Storm Damage Survey

unnamedsurvey

The Town of Mammoth Lakes (TOML) and Mono County are collating a list of residential property/business owners or renters who have a critical need to clear their roof from excessive snow and/or to gain access and clear their propane tank as a primary heating source. The Town will prioritize the requests based on critical life safety needs and will contact the individual with further information if resources become available.

The collected data will be used to estimate total damages countywide and determine if enough damage occurred to qualify the region for disaster assistance, such as low interest disaster loans from the Small Business Administration for those who are uninsured or underinsured. Completing the form does not guarantee the region or the property owner will be eligible to receive disaster assistance. Please submit info by Saturday, April 15, 2023.

CalChamber Names Flexible Work Schedule Bill as Job Creator

unnamedjob

Legislation making it easier to set up flexible work schedules has been named a job creator by the California Chamber of Commerce. SB 703 (Niello; R-Sacramento) allows for an employee-selected flexible work schedule and relieves employers of the administrative cost and burden of adopting an alternative workweek schedule per division, which accommodates employees, helps retain employees, and allows the employer to invest these savings into growing its workforce.

Portable Backup Generator Warning

During our current winter season, Mono County Public Health reminds residents to never use a backup generator inside of a home, garage, or other structure – even if the doors and windows are open.  Portable backup generators produce poisonous carbon monoxide gas, which is coloroless and odorless.  It is important that residents and visitors take caution when using these tools during the winter season.
