Mammoth Lakes Town Building Division Provides Valuable Resources for Winter Snow Preparation

mammoth lakes

Good afternoon,

Cold temperatures and a dusting of snow on Mammoth Mountain are good reminders that winter is just around the corner. As part of the community’s winter preparation, it’s important to remember that when the Town experiences periods of heavy snowfall, buildings can be subject to different degrees of structural damage. Removing snow from roofs and propane service entrances at buildings is especially important for structural safety and propane safety. It is important that you know how to recognize structural damage, who to notify and how to prevent and/or fix it. Bookmark this page [https://www.townofmammothlakes.ca.gov/379/Emergency-Information] as your go-to resource for emergency information. Residents and businesses should contact snow removal contractors as soon as possible to make sure you are on snow removal schedules for this season. It can be very difficult to get a snow removal contractor out to your home or business in a heavy winter.

For additional information on how you can best prepare your home or business for winter as well as a list of local resources for snow removal contractors, engineers and building supply stores, among others, please review the handout found on this page [https://www.townofmammothlakes.ca.gov/379/Emergency-Information] under Town Resources or contact the Town’s Building Division at (760) 965-3632 or buildingtech@townofmammothlakes.ca.gov.
