Mammoth Lakes PD Bear Beat: October 31-November 13, 2022

11/1, Golden Creek Road – Bear broke into a vehicle the previous night. Food was found in the car.

11/1, 4:08 p.m., Chateau Road – Bear and two cubs found in an open dumpster. Bears were hazed away by Officers.

11/2, 8:55 a.m., Lupin Street – Bear in an open dumpster. Bears were gone on arrival.

11/2, 11:50 p.m., Majestic Pines Drive – Bear broke into the back door of a house to get dog food. Bear hazed away by Officers and bear-proofing home ideas were provided. The bear returned two more times during the week.

11/6, 11:51 p.m., Main Street – Cub stuck in an open dumpster. The cub was released and the dumpster secured by Officers.

11/7, 3:56 a.m., Par Court – Cub stuck in an unlocked car. Cub was released by Officers.

11/7, 6:12 p.m., Chateau Road – Bear and cubs in an open dumpster. Hazed away by Officers.

11/7, 7:54 p.m., Shady Rest Road – Bear in a mudroom. Hazed away by Officers.

11/7, 9:00 p.m., Old Mammoth Road – Cub stuck in a recycling bin. No food in the bin but the cub wanted to make sure! The bear was released and hazed by Officers.

11/10, 8:12 p.m., Trails End Road – Bear trying to get into cars. Bear left before the cops got there because the doors were all locked and none of them contained food.
