Facelift: Eastern Sierra Cleanup this Saturday!

Mammoth Lakes Tourism supported by various organizations is hosting Facelift: Act Local 2022 – Eastern Sierra Clean-up this Saturday, October 1. The event will run from 8am – 5pm in the Welcome Center parking lot with the Latin Market Taco Truck handing out free food and drinks all day. All supplies are provided to individuals who want to help – just show up! Every person who volunteers will be entered to win in the raffle at the end of the day. There are multiple $500 Yiftee gift cards, sleeping bags, tents backpacks—tons of rad swag to give away. It should be a good time! Click here for additional information and to register.

Mono County Public Health Launches Covid-19 Test-To-Treat Program

Effective this October, Mono County Public Health will be taking over all COVID-19 testing in Mono County and launching a COVID-19 Test-to-Treat program.  At COVID-19 Test-to-Treat clinics, individuals can get tested, be seen by a health care provider, and receive a prescription for medication – all in one location. Public Health Test-To-Treat Clinics: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at the Mono County Civic Center (1290 Tavern Road; Mammoth Lakes) from 11am – 1pm (Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are welcome). NEW Lakes Basin Connector Trails Ribbon Cutting Ceremony – October 5

The Mammoth Lakes Trail System (MLTS) and the Inyo National Forest are happy to announce the official opening of several new trails in the Mammoth Lakes Basin. These trails were a result of a community engagement effort as part of the Lakes Basin Special Study. A ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate their official opening is scheduled on Wednesday October 5 at 3:00pm at the junction of Around Lake Mary Road and Lake George Road (near the bike rack). New trails include: Mamie Woods (between the Lakes Basin Path and Lake George Path), Horseshoe Woods (between Horseshoe Lake and Lake Mamie) and Dog Boulder Trail (leads to Dog Boulder where it intersects with the newly rerouted Horseshoe Lake Loop). Register for a Tour of The Parcel – October 6

Members of the public are invited to tour The Parcel affordable housing project on Thursday, October 6 at 4:00pm. Town staff will discuss the entire project and attendees will be able to see the impressive progress of the first phase. Phase 1 of The Parcel, aka “The Sawyer” incudes 81 apartment units within 2 buildings, at several affordability levels and with a variety of unit sizes between studio and 3 bedroom, as well as a community space, childcare facility, and a public park. If you’re interested in attending the tour, please email Sandra Moberly to be added to the list. The Parcel tour is limited to 30 people so please sign up as soon as possible to reserve your space. Additional tour dates may be scheduled if there is enough demand.
