Town Council Meeting Action Items for November 20, 2024
Town Council received the pre-audit actual financial presentation for Fiscal Year 2023-24 and adopted the resolution amending the FY2024-25 budget as recommended by the Town Manager. Amendments to the budget included: $1,350,000 for future capital (MACC construction), $1,000,000 for the Housing Now! Small Site Development Program, $1,300,000 to the Housing Now! Small Site Development Program from the Mammoth Lakes Tourism Reserve, $1,200,000 for the Housing Now! Small Site Development Program Housing Reserve, $145,000 to send three police recruits to the police academy, $75,000 for a landscaping contract, $125,000 to fund airport equipment, and $2,300,000 from the Transit Reserve to help fund 6 large buses operated by ETSA operating in the Town of Mammoth Lakes.
Winter Storm Warning Posted for Mammoth Lakes
NWS Reno issued a Winter Storm Warning for Mammoth Lakes above 7,000 feet in effect from 4:00pm Friday to 10:00pm on Saturday. Snow accumulations of 10 to 18 inches with isolated amounts up to 2 feet is forecast with 30 to 40 mph Southwest winds with gusts up to 65 mph. Ridge wind gusts may reach up to 125 mph. For the Winter Storm Watch from Sunday to Tuesday, 4 to 8 inches below 7,000 feet is forecast with 1 to 3 feet possible above 7,000 feet.

The Mammoth Lakes Police Department reminds residents and visitors that NO parking is allowed along ALL town streets unless otherwise noted from November 1 through April 30.
Flights Start to Mammoth Yosemite Airport on November 27
Advanced Air resumes winter flights to Mammoth Lakes (MMH) from Hawthorne-LA (HHR) and Carlsbad (CLD) on Wednesday, November 27. Flights are scheduled to operate primarily on Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays & Mondays through April 28, 2025, with a few holiday exceptions. Locals can save 20% by using the code: MMHLOCAL at checkout.
Daily flights on United will resume on Thursday, December 12 with service to/from San Francisco (SFO) and to/from Denver (DEN) beginning on Thursday, December 19. Both routes will operate through March 30, 2025. SAVE THE DATE, Community Tree Lighting Ceremony, December 6
The community Tree Lighting Ceremony returns to Mammoth Creek Park and the Community Recreation Center (CRC) on Friday, December 6 from 5:00 to 7:30pm. Warm yourself around the firepit on the deck and roast Smores compliments of the Parks and Recreation Department, enjoy a hot beverage courtesy of Mammoth Lakes Tourism and purchase holiday treats and merchandise from the Holiday Market.
In celebration of this season of giving, consider donating a wrapped present or funds for either a boy or girl to the Angel Giving Tree or donate non-perishable food items to the Stuff-a-Bus Food Drive, presented by the Eastern Sierra Transit Authority (ESTA) and the Inyo Mono Advocates for Community Action (IMACA). All donors receive a 2 for 1 admission pass to LA Kings Ice at Mammoth Lakes.
