Scenic Loop Closure

Both gates on the Scenic Loop were closed for approximately 33 days on Wednesday, May 6, due to critical forest health work in the Inyo Craters area. This isn’t just routine maintenance. This project is critical in slowing the spread of bark beetle damage and reducing dangerous fuel buildup in a heavily used recreation area. Dead and dying trees pose real risks to roads, trails, and nearby communities.
