Lakes Basin to Open for Vehicle Access Saturday
The Mammoth Ranger District of the Inyo National Forest will open the Lake Mary gate at 7:00am this Saturday, May 2, for public vehicle access. Please visit the Inyo National Forest website [https://www.fs.usda.gov/r05/

Meet a Truck is Back!
Don’t miss this fun and family event on Tuesday, May 5 from 1:30-3:30pm at the Community Recreation Center (CRC), 686 Old Mammoth Road. The Town Public Works, Parks and Recreation, Airport and Police Departments, as well as Mammoth Disposal and the Mammoth Lakes Fire Department will have vehicles and heavy equipment available for kids (and adults!) to check out. All ages are welcome at this FREE event, no RSVP needed.

Complimentary trash bags are now available from the Town of Mammoth Lakes (8:00am-5:00pm) and Mammoth Disposal Offices (8:00am-4:00pm). Grab a bag or two before Saturday, May 15 to clean up our streets, trails, multi-use paths, parks, neighborhoods, and public spaces! Drop your full bags of trash at the Mammoth Disposal Transfer Station on May 15 & 16 between 8:00am-3:30pm or from 9:00am-1:00pm at the Sustainability Fair on Saturday, May 16 at the Community Recreation Center (CRC), located at 686 Old Mammoth Road. Personal-Use Firewood Permit Sales Begin in May
Choose which firewood permit purchase works for you either online or in person. Permits are $15 per cord, with a minimum two-cord purchase. Most funds from firewood permit sales are returned to the forest for continued implementation of this program and the Inyo National Forest Fuelwood Strategy. Online purchase begins May 1. Please use a credit card to purchase firewood permits online then print the permit and wood tags before heading to the forest. In-person purchase begins May 29. Please bring a credit card to purchase firewood permits. Otherwise, make an appointment with Forest Service employees to buy tags with cash or check in Mammoth Lakes at the Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center, open daily from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
