Why drive when you can take the FREE Bus!

If you’re looking for the best way to get around Town, car-free, Eastern Sierra Transit (ESTA) is the service for you! To keep the bus FREE for residents and visitors riding routes within the Town limits, the Town pays ESTA to run the local service subsidizing fares for riders. Mammoth Mountain also provides funding for winter bus service to the mountain. Thanks to these local partnerships, ESTA transports nearly one million people a year in one of the largest service areas in the state preventing tons of greenhouse gases. New to the array of offerings provided by ESTA are expanded services from Mammoth to Reno, as well as Mammoth to Lancaster. Additionally, services to and from Bishop have expanded to assist the local workforce. All these routes now operate seven days a week. A fare is charged for any out-of-town routes.
