Mammoth Lakes Basin anticipated opening date of April 25 for pedestrian traffic

 

MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif., April 18, 2024— Snow removal operations within the Lakes Basin by the Town of Mammoth Lakes (the Town) are slated to begin on Monday, April 21, during which time the road will be closed to all traffic. After snow removal is completed, it will be opened to pedestrians and bicycle traffic only, with an anticipated date of Friday, April 25.

Inyo National Forest will continue working with Town officials and other partner agencies to plow the remaining snow as quickly as possible, however there is no anticipated opening date for vehicular access.

Campgrounds

Campgrounds in the Mammoth Lakes area are scheduled to open on time. Conditions are assessed weekly and opening dates will be posted on our website:  www.fs.usda.gov/recmain/inyo/recreation.
