Mammoth Lakes SignAnnual Spring Egg Hunt – TODAY at Shady Rest Park!

The annual Spring Egg and Candy Hunt will begin promptly at 3.15pm TODAY (April 15) at Shady Rest Park. Please meet at the Snack Shack by no later than 3pm. Caltrans Celebrates Earth Day with Statewide Free Clean California Dump Days on April 23

Caltrans is celebrating Earth Day with FREE Dump Day events throughout California on Saturday, April 23. Free Dump Day collection is limited to household items such as tires with rims removed, metal, plastic, fiberglass, fabric, glass, asphalt, dirt, concrete, wood, mattresses, household appliances, and landscape trimmings. No construction materials, hazardous waste, e-waste, treated wood waste, or asbestos of any type will be accepted. Expedited Permitting for EV Charging Stations and Small Rooftop Solar Systems

On May 4, Town Council will consider an ordinance providing expedited permitting procedures for the installation of Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations and an expedited permitted procedure for small residential rooftop solar systems. Both ordinances implement state mandates focused on enhancing electrification systems and services. Review the Staff Report.

Town Council and Mammoth Lakes Tourism (MLT) Joint Workshop

At 3:00pm on May 4, Town Council has scheduled a joint meeting with Mammoth Lakes Tourism (MLT) to discuss MLT’s work program strategy and to review a set of deliverables to be incorporated into the agreement between the Town and MLT. Review the Staff Report.

Town Council to Receive Update on ORMAT CD-IV Project

At the May 4 Town Council meeting, ORMAT representatives will provide updated information on the CD-IV Pipeline Project in the Shady Rest Area. Options to integrate work with recreational planning, completion date and the transition to normal operations will be discussed. Review the Staff Report. 

Town COVID-19 Update

The Federal Government has extended the requirement to wear masks on mass transit which includes our free local bus service provided by Eastern Sierra Transit (ESTA) through May 3. Mono County and the Town of Mammoth Lakes continue to see a small number of reported COVID-19 cases with only 8 cases for the week ending April 9.

Effective Monday, April 18, OptumServe COVID-19 testing will move from Mammoth Lakes Fire Station #2 to Canyon Lodge (1000 Canyon Blvd.). Testing is still offered between 11am-7pm Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Click here for additional COVID-19 testing information.
