Regional event aims to advance collaboration and sustainable growth across the Sierra Nevada’s working lands
JAMESTOWN, CA (October 27, 2025) — Mother Lode Job Training (MLJT) and the Central Sierra Economic Development District (CSEDD) are proud to announce the Land, Energy, Agriculture, and Forestry (LEAF) Conference, taking place Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Chicken Ranch Casino Resort in Jamestown, California, with a hybrid virtual option available.
The LEAF Conference will convene producers, foresters, land stewards, clean energy leaders, educators, regional partners, and more from across the Sierra region and beyond for a day of collaboration, innovation, and action. Under the California Jobs First initiative, the Sierra region is representative of Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne, Mariposa, Alpine, Mono and Inyo Counties. The goal of the LEAF Conference to strengthen partnerships, highlight ongoing projects, and identify actionable next steps to support a resilient, sustainable future for the Natural and Working Lands and Agriculture sectors.
“The LEAF Conference is about connecting the people who do impactful work to support the Natural and Working Lands and Agriculture sectors, from the forest to the farm. There will be space for them to share insights, address challenges, and shape the future together,” said Sophia Kaufman, Project Coordinator at Mother Lode Job Training.
The conference will feature speakers and panels highlighting bioenergy, forestry, sustainable agriculture, food systems, fuel clearance and wildfire resilience, education, and workforce development. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in interactive sessions, connect with regional resources and programs, and help identify shared priorities and next steps for these vital sectors.
Coffee and pastries will be served in the morning to encourage early networking, and lunch will be provided for all in-person attendees.
RSVPs are required for both in-person and virtual participation. Interested participants can register here: www.mljt.org/leaf
