Inyo National Forest Prescribed Burning to Begin at Antelope Unit October 28

Pending final approvals and favorable weather conditions, crews will start ignitions on October 28th, 2025, at the Antelope prescribed burn unit (see map). This unit, located east of Smokey Bear Flat, is 278 acres and will take approximately 3 days to complete. Smoke will be visible from Highway 395, Highway 203, The Town of Mammoth Lakes, and Mammoth Mountain. Smoke may be visible for several days after the initial ignition as crews mop up.
