Inyo County Names Bouchard Next CAO
With a contract approved at today’s meeting, Inyo County is poised to officially welcome Ms. Christine Bouchard as the next County Administrative Officer. The Board of Supervisors made a conditional offer of employment to Bouchard on October 13. Her start date will be November 12.
Bouchard’s appointment follows an extensive, comprehensive effort to recruit for a permanent CAO since late 2025.
“Christine brings with her a wide breadth of experience in county government and a proven track record of innovative, effective, and supportive leadership,” said Board Chair Trina Orrill. “Her areas of expertise range from budgeting and financial insights to personnel, real property, project, and team management. We look forward to embarking with her on this exciting new chapter for Inyo County.”
Bouchard is no stranger to the Eastern Sierra. She served the last three years as Mono County’s Assistant County Administrative Officer, where she helped evaluate, formulate, and develop recommendations on improvements to county operations, programs, and services. Prior to that, Bouchard served as Administrative Services Manager for the Santa Cruz Port District, Administrative Services Manager for the County of Santa Cruz, and Senior Administrative Analyst for Amador County General Services.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Bouchard went on to receive her education in Business Management and Employment Law.
Bouchard said she is eager to step into this important role and get to know the Inyo County workforce that is the backbone of the organization.
“I am excited to build positive, productive, and lasting relationships with an already well-established team. I am bringing over 27 years of a combination of military, public service, and County Government time to the organization,” Bouchard said. “I am enthusiastic to put my experience, training, and knowledge to work to bring the County to the highest possible level. The health, safety, and well-being of the community will always be my highest priority. I believe that fiscal responsibility and transparency are essential in maintaining the trust and respect of the public. It is my honor and absolute privilege to start working for the people of Inyo County.”
