The Millpond Festival is just around the corner, and we need volunteers! Join our incredible volunteer team—because without you, the festival wouldn’t be possible! As the heart of our community, volunteers like you bring the festival to life!
Volunteering is cool! It means making a direct impact on the success of the festival, gaining valuable experience, and contributing to our vibrant arts scene. Enjoy three days of music, yoga, artist workshops, art and food vendors, camping, family fun, and more. It’s a wonderful time you won’t want to miss!

GALLERY & GIFT SHOP : NEW SUMMER HOURS
Summer gallery gift shop hours just for you! Beginning June 17th, there will be a shift in our daily hours of operation. It’s summer, lighter later and cooler at night.
Now you can explore our gallery and peruse our local artists creations, Monday – Thursday 1-8PM and Friday 9-5PM.

What an incredible weekend! A massive thank you to all of our phenomenal vendors, performers, partners, and patrons for making the 2024 Memorial Weekend Arts & Crafts Show an extraordinary success. We were graced with amazing weather, and we are beyond fortunate to have the unwavering support of the Bishop City Park, City of Bishop and Inyo County staff—this event simply wouldn’t be possible without your dedication and hard work.
To our extraordinary vendors, your breathtaking crafts brought so much joy to our little town. The community is truly privileged to have the opportunity to support and shop your amazing creations.
To our talented performers, your wonderful sounds filled the park with magic. Thank you for making it unforgettable.
And to our fantastic food vendors, thank you for bringing such delicious treats to the weekend. Your tasty offerings kept everyone happy and fueled throughout the event.

MONO ARTS COUNCIL PRESENTS: ROUND WEAVING WITH ELYSIA FISCHBACH
In this 3 hour workshop, hosted at Walker Coffee Co. in Walker CA, you will learn the essentials of modern round weaving by creating with yarn on 8-inch embroidery hoops. Talented textile artist Elysia Fischbach will guide us through basic round weaving techniques using a variety of colorful and textured fibers to create your fiber art piece. This Workshop is suitable for beginner and experienced weavers, ages 12 and up.
In this class, MAC will provide:
– All supplies needed to create an 8″ embroidery hoops of woven art
– A totally fun time!

CELEBRATE JUNETEENTH THROUGH ART WITH MARIJKE
C5 would like to invite you to an opportunity to freely express yourself through art in honor of Juneteenth!
In this workshop, we will be celebrating multiple Black American artists throughout history by learning a little about each artist’s work and their life experiences. Then, there will be a buffet of materials laid out for everyone to create a piece inspired by Juneteenth and in honor of the resilience and liberation of Black Americans.
This is an experience that is open to everyone! Join this workshop and express the joy of your own resilience through the lens of artists that overcame their own hurdles to show their talent. Come celebrate Juneteenth with us! This workshop is for ages 9+
The workshop at C5 is donation based, $15, $25, or $35. If you are unable to make a donation at this time but would like to come along, please do. No-one will be turned away for lack of funds.
OPEN HOUSE : OWENS VALLEY RADIO OBSERVATORY

Join us in Big Pine, CA, for a fun and educational day at one of the world’s premier radio observatories! Explore the fascinating world of radio astronomy and discover the wonders of the universe. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to tour the observatory and learn all about its groundbreaking research. Bring your friends and family for an unforgettable experience!
THIS EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
ICA ATTENDED THE LEGACY OF ALICE PIPER 100 YEAR ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION
Although the event has passed, this celebration of the Legacy of Alice Piper was educational and inspiring. Let’s all continue to support & spread the story about how one Paiute girl from Big Pine, CA fought to have equal public education for Native American children, and won. Please read on for more information.
