Holiday shopping time is here! And the Bishop United Methodist Women’s Annual
Holiday Bazaar is a great place for gifts and treats and more. The annual Holiday
Bazaar will take place on Saturday, November 5 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the United
Methodist Center building at the Bishop First United Methodist Church, 205 N Fowler
Street in Bishop. Proceeds benefit local and other mission projects.

This year’s Holiday Bazaar will feature a wide variety of lovely hand-crafted and one-of-
a-kind items, including fall and winter home décor, as well as upcycled items, specialty
gifts, hand-knit and hand-crochet hats and scarves, baby items, and much more. There will also be a variety of attractive raffle baskets for lucky winners to take home, each
containing many gift-worthy items, such as at-home spa items in the Women’s
Pampering Basket, collectibles in one of several baskets (the Hummel Boys Basket, the
Nutcracker Collection basket, and Boyd’s Bears and Friends Basket), children’s books
and a bear (to encourage a reader), Christmas décor, and many other delights. Raffle
tickets will cost $1 each or 6 for $5, and you don’t have to be present to win.

And what is a Holiday Bazaar without something wonderful to eat? The delicious
“Bakery Corner Café” will be open and serving this year, with an array of delightful
baked goods for sale and free coffee (generously donated by Black Sheep Coffee
Roasters). “Everyone knows that holiday shopping can be hungry business,” notes
bazaar volunteer Penny Kehus. “Shoppers will be able to take a snack break and enjoy
tasty treats and coffee at tables set up near the bake sale.”

As in the past, the popular “Treasures from Grandma’s Attic” table will be up and full of
bargains—seasonal and other—of all kinds. There will also be a well-stocked “Jazzy
Jewelry” table with a wide selection of styles.

Last but not least—and new this year—will be a Children’s Craft Corner in the adjacent Adult Lounge, which is easily visible from the shopping area. For the low cost of $2 per child for supplies and a snack, shoppers with children will be able to enjoy the Bazaar—and perhaps a quiet coffee and tasty baked goods—while their children have a snack and do supervised crafts.
