Great News! We can help make June “Pride Month” in Inyo County!
Thanks in part to the efforts of the newly formed Eastern Sierra Pride organization, this Tuesday, May 17, the Inyo County Board will vote on whether to approve a great Pride Month Proclamation that reads in part:
“Whereas, celebrating Pride Month influences awareness and provides support and advocacy for Inyo County’s LGBTQIA2SP+ community and is an opportunity to act and engage in dialogue to strengthen alliances, build acceptance, and advance equal rights. Therefore be it resolved that the County of Inyo hereby proclaims the month of June 2022 as Pride Month in support of the LGBTQIA2SP+ community, whose influential and lasting contributions to our neighborhoods make Inyo County a vibrant and inclusive community.”
Please urge our Inyo County Supervisors to approve this proclamation! You have three ways to show your support:
1) Come to Tuesday’s Board meeting in Independence by 10:00AM. Wear your Eastern Sierra Pride Shirt if you have one; they are available to buy at Spellbinders and C-5 Studios in Bishop.
2) Attend and speak by Zoom at https://zoom.us/j/868254781.
3) Email the Board at [email protected] and ask that it be read to the Board.
There will be opposition to this important statement of justice and inclusion. Please make your support known!
