Eastern Sierra Land Trust Volunteer Stewardship Day at Conway Ranch
Volunteer Stewardship Day at Conway Ranch
Wednesday, July 26th 9am-1pm
Calling all volunteers! Come join our July 26th Stewardship Day, hosted by ESLT and Mono County at Conway and Mattly Ranches. We will focus on removing a non-native species called Wooly Mullein, especially near the aquaculture zone, along irrigation ditches, and throughout a wildlife enhancement area.
We will be walking ditches and using shovels, rakes, and loppers to remove plants from the ground. Removing non-native species early in the growing season prevents those plants from going to seed, thus stopping their spread.
Please remember to bring boots, hats to protect from sun and bugs, gloves, sunscreen, lots of water, and your own tools if you would like to use them. Shared tools and gloves will also be available.
Visit our website for more information. To volunteer or find out more, contact [email protected] or call our office at (760) 873-4554.
