Mule Deer Migration Corridor Field Trip

Join ESLT and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) for an informative field trip in the Round Valley mule deer herd’s migration corridor. Dan Taylor, with CDFW, will lead us on an educational tour of the Round Valley mule deer herd’s winter range.

When: Sat. Mar. 7, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Where: Round Valley. The exact meeting location will be emailed to RSVPs the week of the field trip.

Did you hear? Earlier this month, biologists from CDFW captured a Sierra Nevada red fox near Mammoth Lakes and fitted it with a GPS collar. This species largely eluded detection by scientists for nearly a century.

As an article in the Los Angeles Times highlights, “The collar will help scientists understand the movement patterns and reproductive behavior of the Sierra Nevada red fox, providing key insights to guide conservation efforts.”*
