The Eastern Sierra Bird Alliance (ESBA) and Bristlecone Chapter of the California Native Plant Society (CNPS) will hold their Annual Joint Potluck and Presentation on December 3 at the Jill Kinmont Boothe School, 166 Grandview Rd., Bishop. Potluck at 5:30, Program at 7:00 The topic is: Saline Valley Monarch Count.
Richard Rachman will discuss the migratory western monarch butterflies of Saline Valley, Death Valley, Inyo County. Topics discussed will be the history of the count in the region, ecology of western monarch butterflies, and plants you can plant in Mono and Inyo County to help monarch butterflies. Richard is a community scientist and plant ecologist. He has volunteered with Xerces Society’s Western Monarch County as a volunteer coordinator and ambassador.
