Honoring Our Veterans

At DVNHA, our gratitude for veterans extends beyond Veterans Day. Since 1886, veterans and active-duty service members have been integral to the protection and preservation of our national parks. Today, veterans make up almost 20% of the NPS workforce, enriching every role with their experience and commitment.
In Death Valley NP, veterans enrich the community as employees and provide support from nearby military bases. Superintendent Mike Reynolds highlights their critical assistance in emergencies, from disposing of old explosives to rescuing stranded hikers. This ongoing collaboration keeps the park safe and accessible. Thank you, veterans, for your dedication and continued service.
