West Line Street Water Main Replacement Project
Construction of the City of Bishop West Line Street Water Main Replacement Project is expected to begin Monday, June 29th and continue through September. The Contractor performing this work will be DG Construction Inc. out of Clovis, Ca.
A hard closure of West Line Street between Main Street and Fowler Street is anticipated to begin as early as Monday June 29th and continue through month of July, detours will be in posted.
This project consists of replacing an existing 8-inch water main that has reached the end of its service life by installing 2,025 linear feet of new 12-inch water main, service connections, valves, and water meters along West Line Street between Main Street and Home Street and the installation of isolation valves on the existing 12-inch water main between Home Street and Mountain View Road to meet AWWA valve spacing standards and support future system connections. Typical operations will be Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 5:00pm. Any night work operations will be announced by a separate notice to adjacent property owners no less than 7 working days prior to the scheduled work.
This construction will require traffic control that will impact traffic on the West side of Main Street and will require full road closures with detours during certain phases of construction. All efforts will be made to maintain access to businesses and to minimize restrictions, but drivers and pedestrians should be cautious and take alternative routes when available. Temporary scheduled interruptions to water service will be necessary and all effected customers will be notified 48 hours in advance.
