CLEAN UP THE LAKE
Clean Up the Lake (CUTL) will be back in Mammoth Lakes this September. CUTL is an organization that conducts underwater lake cleanups and research, removing litter and fishing debris while monitoring for aquatic invasive species (AIS) and testing for potential algal blooms. Theyโre looking for passionate volunteers to help with this yearโs fall event. Up for a challenge? Email [email protected] to get involved.
Check out the episode above featuring their 2025 summer cleanup of Convict Lake, and get a sneak preview of an upcoming episode with footage from their fall 2025 cleanup of McLeod Lake in the Mammoth Lakes Basin.

Before making your way to Mammoth Lakes for your ultimate fishing trip, be sure to visit our Fishing Page. You’ll find curated resources on fishing regulations, licensing and permits, stocking schedules, advisories, and more, all in one place.
Remember to Clean. Drain. Dry. Inspect. to help stop the spread of the golden mussel and other aquatic invasive species (AIS), like the Eurasian milfoil recently confirmed in Twin Lakes in the Mammoth Lakes Basin.

New ordinances are now in effect in Mono and Inyo counties to help prevent the spread of golden mussels. All trailered boats must be inspected prior to launching. The inspection, decontamination, and stickers are free! Click below to find WID stations available in the Eastern Sierra.

Tangle Free Waters is a program designed to reduce and remove monofilament fishing line from Eastern Sierra waterways. Untangle and retrieve fishing line and dispose of it at a Tangle Free Waters station. Find a station map here.

The unbelievable beauty of Mammoth Lakes is just a flight away and Sierra views from cruising altitude are unreal.
