Traffic Advisory for the Week of March 10, 2025
EASTERN KERN, INYO, and MONO COUNTIES – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announces the following project work and traffic impacts for the week of March 10 – March 14.
Work schedules are subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/or materials, and/or construction-related issues.
New Traffic Impacts
Eastern Kern County
- Sand Canyon Wire Crossing – On State Route 58 between Tehachapi Boulevard and Cameron Canyon Road east of Tehachapi, crews will cross wire over the roadway on Wednesday from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm. There will be intermittent traffic breaks and drivers may experience brief delays.
Inyo County
- Bishop Pole Relocation – On U.S. 395 from Barlow Lane to Tu Su Lane in Bishop, the southbound shoulder will close while utility crews relocate a pole on Wednesday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Buttermilk Road Utility Work – On State Route 168 W between Buttermilk Road and E. Bishop Creek Road west of Bishop, utility crews will work off the state right of way Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. There will be one-way traffic control and drivers may experience 10-minute delays.
- Badwater Road Paving – On State Route 190 from a half mile west of Badwater Road to a half mile east in Death Valley National Park, crews will conduct one-way traffic control for paving work on Badwater Road Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Drivers may experience 20-minute delays.
Mono County
- Bridgeport Banner Change – The town of Bridgeport will replace its banner over U.S. 395 on Tuesday between 6:00 am and noon. Drivers in both directions may encounter temporary traffic breaks.
- Benton Utility Work – On U.S. 6 between Pedro Ranch Road and State Route 120 E, the southbound shoulder will close while utility crews replace structures on Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Ongoing Traffic Impacts
Inyo County
- Olancha-Cartago 4-Lane Project – Construction continues on the Olancha-Cartago 4-Lane Expressway Project. Northbound drivers will encounter two traffic switches on the new lanes of U.S. 395 and traffic is limited to one lane in each direction through the northern half of the project area. The speed limit is reduced to 55 mph through the project area and 45 mph through the two traffic switches.
Travelers are asked to be attentive to workers on the highway, slow for the cone zone, and move over whenever possible to give additional clearance. Be Safe and Be Work Zone Alert!
