Caltrans to Utilize Small Businesses for Minor B Projects
BISHOP – In support of Caltrans’ Equity Goal and ongoing efforts statewide to utilize small businesses, all Minor B contracts submitted to Caltrans’ Division of Procurement and Contracts must now use certified small business contractors.
The Minor B contract designation is designed to address low-cost transportation needs that are high priority within each Caltrans District. Minor B contracts are awarded through a competitive bidding process and have a maximum cost of $333,000. Caltrans District 9, which includes eastern Kern, Inyo, and Mono counties, will be advertising upcoming Minor B projects on the Cal eProcure website.
Small business owners interested in working with Caltrans through the Minor B program can visit the Caltrans District 9 website at dot.ca.gov/d9 for more information. On the small business page, there are links that will help small business owners get certified with the state and search for Minor B projects that are being advertised.
