Bishop Varsity Volleyball Takes a Step Closer to CIF Finals

Bishop’s varsity volleyball team makes it one step closer to the CIF Final Championship, going up against Bakersfield Tuesday evening in an epic showdown.
The game was extremely fast-paced with consistent scoring on both sides. In the first game, Bishop struggled to get going but prevailed in the end with a close score of 24-20. In the final games, Bakersfield played hard and beautifully but Bishop still won and will be moving on in the championships.
When asked about the game and how his team played, head coach Laurence

Blocker Jr. responded with “They started a little jittery being [the] playoffs, it’s win or go home, so the pressure is on. It was definitely apparent the first few points [but] once we got to point ten, we started settling in they just started gaining more confidence and playing together. By the third game we were just cruising; they were having a great time so it was really awesome to see.”
We hope to see you at the next game this Thursday (10/28) in the Gus Klekas Gym at 6:00 pm for our game against Morro Bay in the quarter-finals for the playoff! Doors open at 5:00 pm.
