Bishop Broncos Volleyball Teams Compete at California City Volleyball Tournament

The BUHS Volleyball team attended the California City Volleyball Tournament over the weekend.

On the JV side, after great games on Friday Bishop JV was ranked 4 going into bracket play on Saturday. Saturday morning the JV Broncos got off to a rocky start with a loss to Mammoth JV followed by another loss to put JV out of the tournament.

For Varsity, Friday game play started out with some good competition leaving the Broncos 5-1 splitting with Highland. Point differentials between Highland and Bishop would ultimately send Highland to the gold bracket and Bishop to the silver bracket.

Saturday morning Silver bracket started with a tight set against Legacy Christian as the Broncos got warmed up for the morning but after getting in the groove they came out on top 2-0. We then faced the Kern Valley Broncs for our second game of the day. Both teams came in ready to play with a tight scoring first set falling to Bishop’s favor, the second set was very similar but ultimately fell to Kern Valley. The Broncos were not letting up in the third set and ultimately won 15-7 taking us to the silver pool championship. In our final game against Eastside the Broncos put up a tough battle gathering momentum as our JV team came to support. Through a very tough few sets Bishop ultimately came out victorious 2-1.
