Bishop Broncos stole the lead late in the game in a 9-6 victory over Rosamond on Thursday. The game was tied at four with Bishop Broncos batting in the top of the seventh when Bodie Garcia singled on a 1-2 count, allowing his pinch runner Noah Cathey to score one run.
Caleb Gillem led Bishop Broncos to victory by driving in five runs. The Broncos loaded the bases when Rosamond intentionally walked Omohundro. Gillem followed that up with a grand slam. Gillem went 2-for-3 at the plate. Gillem drove in runs on a sacrifice fly in the sixth and a grand slam in the seventh.
Jake Frigerio toed the rubber for Bishop Broncos. The hurler lasted four innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out eight.
Bishop Broncos socked one home run on the day. Gillem had a dinger in the seventh inning.
