Be Part of Our Local Housing Solution – Today at 5PM!

The community is invited to join the Mammoth Lakes Town Council to discuss LOCAL solutions to create additional and affordable LOCAL workforce housing TODAY (July 27) from 5:00 – 8:00pm (doors open at 4:30pm) at the Westin Monache Resort, Redfir & Foxfir Conference Rooms (50 Hillside Drive).

This is a special meeting of the Mammoth Lakes Town Council and will be facilitated by Stacy Corless from the Sierra Business Council. The focus of the workshop is on housing needs and programs in the Town of Mammoth Lakes, actions taken by or supported by the Town, and local partnership programs with Mammoth Lakes Housing.

The Workshop will be structured around three sessions, with each to include a Presentation/Breakout Discussion/Report Out.

The first session will be a review of the current Town’s Housing Now! Initiative and the programs that are being implemented. The second session will look at opportunity sites that may be considered for future planning and housing development. The sites incorporate low to high density alternatives and other amenities along with housing development. The focus is generally on sites the Town owns or has potential partners in development. The third session will review the status of Short-Term Rentals (STRs) in the Town. The pros and cons of STRs are being discussed in communities across California and around the nation. Communities are looking at economic, housing, visitor, and social impacts.

Information and community input from the community workshop will be collected and used to inform future Town Council discussion and potential actions.

Please visit the Town’s Facebook event page for additional information or view the Town Council Special Meeting agenda and staff report.
