Structure Fire in Bishop on Wildrose Lane
At approximately 7:30 p.m., Inyo County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch was notified of a structure fire in the area of the 300 block of Wildrose Lane in Bishop. Bishop Fire Department responded, with Big Pine Fire providing mutual aid, along with Bishop Tribal Police, CAL FIRE San Bernardino/ Inyo/Mono Unit, Sierra LifeFlight, CHP, and the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office.
There were two occupants in the home. One was treated on scene by Sierra LifeFlight for minor burns and smoke inhalation and was cleared. Power and propane were shut off as a precaution to protect the surrounding area. The structure sustained damage: however, the threat to nearby structures was mitigated and the fire was successfully knocked down.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Mop-up operations will continue. Residents are advised there may be smoke in the area throughout the night.
Please avoid the area to allow first responders to work safely and efficiently.
