Wayfinder Hotel and Creekside Club Offer a Truly Unique Experience for Travelers and Locals Alike
A walk-through with new management and an evening experience at a local gem

We had a chance to take a tour of the long-lived gem with a brand new name: Wayfinder Bishop.
Under new management and a completely refreshed ambience, Wayfinder brings a certain touch to our community that is greatly deserved and earned.

After passing to new ownership, and through some interim leadership, the new General Manager, Lisa Coedy, has stepped up to ensure a long-lasting relationship between Bishop and all travelers seeking something a bit special during their stay here.
After a walk-through of all the offerings, I sat down to have a chat but first let’s make sure everyone knows what they’re getting into.

First things first, when you approach the lobby there is a beautifully curated pond out front that makes home for a chorus of frogs that guests commonly question is even real – which anyone can attest is the usual effect on those not familiar with just how surreal the music of these amphibians can be.

Numerous room options, in terms of sleeping arrangements and views, cater to whoever may get it while the gettin’s good.
King beds, multiple queens, and pull-out couches offer a variety of options to ensure even the largest families looking for accommodations can be cared for and seen to.

Most rooms offer open spaces, whether they are patios with direct access to the iconic Creekside ambiance or private balconies.
Be it the quiet calm of the running brook or the staggering skyline of our personal share of the Eastern Sierra, guests will not arrive or depart disappointed.

The feeling of stepping out of the lobby bar onto the running waterside is nothing short of magnificent.
This is the kind of experience visitors dream of when they pass through Bishop, sometimes not even appreciating just how special our nook of the world is until they experience it themselves.

Staff are gracious, care is prompt, and if it weren’t for the vistas you’d think even arriving was one of the best parts of the journey here.
As you enter, to the left, there is a generous dining area available for complimentary guest breakfast from 6-10 am and then again open to everyone for evening dining from 4-9 pm. Food options are plentiful, ranging from fresh baked muffins, a waffle station, and local breads and bagels in the morning to delicious salads, charcuterie, or pizzas in the evening.

These later offerings extend to the lobby bar, known as the Creekside Club, presenting a perfect compliment to whatever beer and wine is available.
With the goal of bringing in a custom blended wine offering from a local vintner, they already have Mammoth Brewing on tap and a selection of California wines.

Whether you’re coming in to enjoy the music of Giacomo, who is a regular every other Friday, or looking forward to other local talents hoping to make a scene, there is always something to up the ante.
The quality of hospitality is extraordinary and the dining is nothing short of meeting that.
I can personally attest, as a local, to just how wonderful of a mini-getaway it is to come and enjoy the sound of running water by fireside while enjoying a Mediterranean salad and wild mushroom pizza.
Please, take the time to come experience all they have to offer and make sure your friends and relatives know that this…. this is the place to stay.
