It’s officially time to GO NOW!

Top GO NOW locations: Rock Creek Lake, Conway Summit, and Sagehen Summit are at 100% peak! These locations have been brilliant for the past 5-7 days and we are unsure how long they will hold on. GO NOW or you’ll miss your opportunity at these locations.

Past Peak locations: We bid a fond farewell to the fall leaves around Virginia Lakes. It was a true standout this season!

Weather report: It’s gonna get gusty, so now is the time to catch those leaves before they fall! Look out for cool, crisp autumn temperatures to last through the weekend.

Check out the links below for planning your fall adventure in the Eastern Sierra.

Note: Please use designated pull-offs for viewing colors right off the road, and remember to abide by Leave No Trace principles, no matter where you recreate.

We look forward to seeing you!

50-75% – Near Peak (Go Now!)
75-100% – Peaking (GO NOW!)
Past Peak – (You Missed It)

SAGEHEN SUMMIT

75-100% Peaking (GO NOW!)

The aspen groves are brilliant and at peak! Keep an eye out for elusive wild mustangs, especially along the road.

Note: There are no bathroom facilities at this location. Please do not park on the side of the road blocking access.

ROCK CREEK

75-100% Peaking (GO NOW!)

Take a drive-up Rock Creek, where the whole canyon is now showing off in yellow and orange. Golden trees now surround Rock Creek Lake, making it the ideal location for spectacular fall photography.

TIOGA PASS

75-100% Peaking (GO NOW!)

Tioga Pass is at full peak, with orange and yellow leaves from top to bottom. This is a MUST STOP for this weekend!

CONWAY SUMMIT

75-100% Peaking (GO NOW!)

Conway Summit had sections of beautiful peaking orange aspens with yellows and greens mixed in and should be perfect for the next 7-10 days.

CONVICT CANYON/CROWLEY/MCGEE CREEK

50-75% Near Peak (Go Now!)

McGee Creek Canyon: Shades of yellows and lime line the creeks, casting colors throughout the canyon.

Convict Lake: Golden and lime hues line the banks of Convict Lake, making it a perfect choice for those seeking a leisurely stroll among the trees; a scenic path winds its way along the back of the lake, which now boasts brilliant yellow groves.

Crowley Lake: Deciduous trees in the Crowley Lake community are starting to peak in bunches. The colors will continue to cascade down the hill into town over the next few weeks.

LAKES BASIN

50-75% Near Peak (Go Now!)

Colors within the Mammoth Lakes Basin have become more widespread, especially with the bushes. This is a great option for call colors right within Mammoth Lakes!

JUNE LAKE LOOP

50-75% Near Peak (Go Now!)

Aspen groves along Rush Creek have eye-catching colors in sections. Plus, there are a few colorful areas along the side of Silver Lake.

Note: Use caution on Hwy 158, as it is a narrow road from Silver Lake past Grant Lake.

MAMMOTH LAKES

50-75% Near Peak (Go Now!)

Color around town is just starting to spark (around 50%) and in the next week it will be easy to see color no matter where you are in Mammoth Lakes.  The Snowcreek area and the Town multi-use paths should not be overlooked when it comes to spectacular displays.

VIRGINIA LAKES

Past Peak (You Missed It)

The leaves were stripped of their color about 3 miles up the road. Sagehen Summit and Upper Rock Creek will likely be past peak by next week’s report.
