Volunteer Opportunity with the Bishop Climbing Rangers: February 25th
In preparation for the Buttermilk Stewardship event on Saturday, the Bishop Climbing Rangers are asking for volunteers to help collect rocks the day before on Friday, February 25th from 9 AM – 12 PM. Anyone interested, email the climbing rangers at [email protected].
Free Dump Day: March 20th
The Independence and Lone Pine Landfills have a Free Dump Day on Sunday, March 20th from 7:30 AM – 3:30 AM. Acceptable waste includes household and yard waste, glass, wood, metal, recyclables, appliances and electronics, mattresses and furniture, and tires with the rims removed. Do not bring commercial waste, hazardous waste, oversized/heavy equipment tires, pesticides, herbicides, chemicals, or sharps and disinfectants. The limit for tires is 9 per trip, and the rims must be removed. Loads must be sorted and tarped for transport to avoid litter.
“Without Water” Free Virtual Premiere: March 22nd
Keep Long Valley Green, an environmental conservation organization, is celebrating World Water Day with their new film, “Without Water.” The event will be free and will take place virtually at 6 PM on March 22nd. Round Valley School Hosts Spring Fling Dinner Fundraiser: May 20th
Round Valley School’s PTO is hosting a Spring Fling Dinner Fundraiser for the school on Friday, May 20th at Convict Lake Resort. Currently, they are looking for businesses, individuals, and organizations to donate items for the event’s action and raffle. Items for donation can be dropped off at Round Valley School’s office.
