Weather Report for 12-20-21

Weather Report for Inyo County

In Bishop today, it will be partly sunny with a high of 50. Tonight, it will be mostly cloudy with a low of 22.

With recent low temperatures and patches of snow still hanging around in shady spots, it definitely feels like winter in Bishop – even though skies have been clear for a little while. That’s about to change on Tuesday, when a big, long-lasting Sierra winter storm rolls in. Tuesday night, Bishop has a 30% chance of snow with little to no accumulation expected, and a 50% chance of rain and snow Wednesday. On Wednesday night and Thursday night, rain is likely. On Christmas Eve, we have a slight chance of snow that continues into Friday night, Christmas Day, and Sunday.

Weather Report for Mono County

In Mammoth Lakes today, it will be mostly sunny with a high of 33 and wind gusts up to 30 mph. Tonight, it will be mostly clear with a low of 21 and gusts up to 25 mph.

The upcoming Sierra storm will hit Mammoth Lakes and higher elevations extremely hard, bringing snow starting Tuesday night and going all the way into Sunday. Today through Tuesday, high winds will blow the storm in; and starting Wednesday night, a winter storm watch goes into effect for heavy snow and low temperatures.
