US 395 Reopens Through Mono County
U.S. 395 Reopens from Overnight Closure
MONO COUNTY – U.S. 395 through Mono County has fully reopened following its closure late Wednesday night. The highway originally closed from State Route 203 to Bridgeport because of whiteout conditions. Early Thursday morning, the closure’s southern point was temporarily extended to Gorge Road north of Bishop before being moved to Lee Vining later that afternoon.
While the highway is now fully open, chain control restrictions remain in effect for much of U.S. 395. Before you head out on the road, check Quickmap.dot.ca.gov to get the latest details on chain control restrictions, road closures, and more. You can also call the Road Condition Hotline at 1-800-427-ROAD (7623). As a reminder, when chain control restrictions are in place, the speed limit is reduced for all vehicles, even if you’re not required to chain up.
For those with sensory disabilities requiring alternate formats (i.e., Braille, large print, sign language interpreter, etc.) and those needing information in a language other than English, please contact Bob Gossman at (760) 881-7145 or TTY 711.
