U.S. Highway 395 Closed Between Gorge Road and Walker Due to Snow

269907329 280498650777063 2630397692763323360 nINYO AND MONO COUNTIES — Due to blizzard conditions and avalanche concerns in the Eastern Sierra, Caltrans has closed a large portion of U.S. Highway 395 in Mono County. The highway is closed between Gorge Road, about 12 miles north of Bishop, and Eastside Lane in Walker, a stretch of more than 100 miles. Maintenance crews are working to reopen the highway, when conditions permit.

Caltrans reminds everyone to remove any snow that has accumulated on top of their vehicle before driving. Make sure your vehicle is packed with traction control devices, such as snow chains. Chain control restrictions are currently in place for many parts of Mono and Inyo counties, including on U.S. 395, U.S. 6, State Route 158 South, State Route 203, State Route 182, State Route 167, and State Route 168.

U.S. Highway 395 Reopens North of Bridgeport 
INYO AND MONO COUNTIES — U.S. Highway 395 has reopened to traffic between Bridgeport and Walker. Chains are still required for that stretch of road. The highway is now closed from the junction with State Route 182 to Gorge Road at the bottom of Sherwin Grade, about 12 miles north of Bishop.
Due to blizzard conditions and avalanche concerns in the Eastern Sierra, Caltrans closed a large portion of U.S. Highway 395 in Inyo and Mono counties late last night. Maintenance crews are working to reopen the rest of the highway, when conditions permit.

Chain control restrictions are currently in place for many parts of Mono and Inyo counties, including on U.S. 395, U.S. 6, State Route 158 South, State Route 203, State Route 182, State Route 167, and State Route 168.
