Thank you Mammoth Lakes Police Department.

I’d like to send out my gratitude and thankfulness to the Mammoth Lakes Police Department.

After miscalculating the width of the street and plowed burm on Pinecrest today, I found my truck wedged between two snow banks. Despite my attempts in 4 low, with traction pads and 1/2 hour of shoveling, the ice below the truck made it impossible to move. I called two tow truck companies and friends with trucks but no help was available.

Knowing I was blocking the entire street I reluctantly called the Mammoth PD. The operator was professional and helpful. She sent officers to assist. As a local who has managed decades of winters I felt utterly defeated by my need for assistance. I am very thankful for the officers respectful and disarming interaction with me. The ease in which they worked with each other was refreshing. Before I knew it they had made a plan, attached a rope and pulled the truck over the burm. They made sure my kids and I were safely out before wrapping up and wishing us well.

My kids and I appreciate the officers help and were grateful to be treated so well throughout the entire situation.
