State Route 58 Closure Extended
TEHACHAPI – Due to inclement weather, the closure of State Route 58 over Tehachapi Pass has been extended. The closure now runs from Towerline Road east of Bakersfield to Exit 172 east of the town of Mojave. Westbound travelers heading to Mojave, Rosamond, or Lancaster should use Exit 172 to Business Route 58 S, which connects with State Route 14 in Mojave. Those heading to California City should use California City Blvd.
Caltrans District 9 will post updates on this closure to its social media channels on Twitter and Facebook. Interstate 5 over the Grapevine also remains closed at this time. For updates on that closure, follow Caltrans District 7 on Twitter or Facebook, or CHP Fort Tejon on Twitter or Facebook.
