Single Vehicle Accident at Coso Junction

On 09/19/2024, at approximately 1:57 PM, David Brooks (Party #1) was driving a green/gray Subaru Outback (Vehicle #1) northbound on US-395, south of Gill Station Coso Road in the #1 lane and at an approximate speed of 70-75 miles per hour. For an unknown reason, Party #1 possibly fell asleep and veered Vehicle #1 to the left, colliding into two paddle markers. Subsequently, Party #1 opened his eyes and reacted by turning his vehicle’s steering wheel to the right. Vehicle #1 collided into a barbed wire fence before rolling over onto its roof into the Coso Junction Rest Stop.

Party #1 sustained major injuries and was transported to Southern Inyo Hospital by the Lone Pine Fire Department.

This crash is still under investigation by the CHP.
