RECREATION
Fire Restrictions in Place for Inyo County

Please remember camping and campfires are not allowed on LADWP-managed land except in developed areas. In Inyo County, campfires are only permitted in established campgrounds and if camping in Inyo National Forest, a permit is required. As of July 1, 2024, the Inyo National Forest is under Stage 1 Fire Restrictions through December 31, 2024.
Due to the increasingly dry conditions and wildfire danger, the Bureau of Land Management also has fire restrictions for public lands in Inyo County These restrictions include:
- No campfires: Except in agency-provided fire rings or barbeques at developed recreation sites
- No smoking: Except in an enclosed vehicle or building, or a developed campground with a three-foot diameter area cleared of brush and flammable materials
- No open flames: Such as charcoal grills or stove fires
- No welding or acetylene torches: With open flames
- No motorized vehicles: Off designated roads or trails, including tools powered by internal combustion engines or battery-operated chainsaws
- No fireworks
- No explosives
Thank you and Stay Safe!
