Mono County Early Spring News & Updates
Mono county has seen a good amount of snow since the start of 2024 and it seems that we are in store for more now and into April. So far, Spring has had us on a teetertotter of Winter and Spring weather with some days mild and pleasant while others are bringing us icy blasts of snow.
Locals and visitors are gearing up for the much anticipated Fishing Opener (April 27th) as well as our our waterfall and wildflower season (starting as early as May) in Mono County. Lakes, streams, and reservoirs will be at very healthy levels, and most will be ice-free following a strong late winter and mild spring. There are plenty of weeks for snow adventures left on the calendar.
Summer Travel Planning Tip: Plan and book your trip in advance. Campsites at recreation.gov are booking 6 months in advance. Yosemite is requiring reservations for specific dates in 2024 – make sure to book your dates now. For other lodging options visit our “Where to Stay” page.

Fishing Opener
We are gearing up for the start to the regular fishing season on April 27. Join us for fishing derbies and tournaments that will be happening throughout the season.

Yosemite Reservations for 2024
A reservation will be required to drive into or through Yosemite National Park on some days from April 13 through October 27, 2024, for those driving into the park between 5 am & 4 pm.
Plan ahead for key dates with a reservation.

The Eastern Sierra Spirit and Ale Trail
Get a Map, Grab a Beer, Earn a Patch!
The Eastern Sierra Spirit and Ale Trail stretches from Bishop to Bridgeport along US 395.
How it works: Have each brewery and distillery stamp your map. Start anywhere, end anywhere. Once you’ve visited all eight locations, submit your completed map at any location for an Eastern Sierra Spirit and Ale Trail patch.
