Mono County Elections Announces Voting Options and New Drop Box Locations for the Upcoming Election

MONO COUNTY, CA (October 12, 2026) — With the upcoming election fast approaching, the Mono County Elections Office is reminding residents of the convenient and secure ways to cast their ballots. Vote-by-mail (VBM) ballots were officially mailed to all registered voters on October 5, 2026, and voters now have several options to ensure their voices are heard, whether by mail, at a secure ballot drop box, or in person.

New Drop Box Locations and Expanded Availability
Pursuant to Senate Bill 884, recently signed into law as urgency legislation by Governor Newsom, all vote-by-mail ballot drop-off locations statewide are now required to be open beginning at least 30 days prior to Election Day.

To make returning ballots even easier for local residents, Mono County has added two new official ballot drop box locations for this election cycle:

  • Lee Vining Community Center

  • Benton Community Center

In-Person Polling Locations and In-Person Voting
For voters who prefer to vote in person, need a replacement ballot, require language or accessibility assistance, or wish to register and vote on the same day via Conditional Voter Registration, polling places will be open across Mono County on Election Day.

In-person voters are encouraged to review their polling location in advance, bring their vote-by-mail ballot if they wish to surrender it for an in-person polling place ballot, or simply drop their completed, signed vote-by-mail envelope at any polling site on Election Day.
