THE BEST KEEPS GETTING BETTER
It’s hard to believe that the Mammoth Bike Park has over 70 miles of trails open, and there’s still plenty to go. For those with the skills, riding them all in one day is a serious test of mid-season fitness. If your skills are still progressing but you aren’t quite up to some of the more difficult trails, there’s plenty of mileage to explore around Mammoth Mountain, from the smooth shady berms on Downtown to the wide-open views 2000’ higher on Off The Top.
In the past week, our trail crew has opened Chainsmoke (with access via the road), the lower section of DC-10, and Pipeline from the Paper Route entrance down. For newer riders of all ages, the Skills Park off Discovery Chair (11) is also up and running so you can practice your bike handling on man-made features with quick laps in the beginner-friendly Discovery Zone.
Keep an eye on the Mountain Message for new trail openings, as our trail crew is working daily to add more trails to the list.
Please note: Construction is ongoing between Main Lodge and McCoy Station with daily trail impacts possible. For Velocity and Chainsmoke, we’ll be using crossing guards to help navigate traffic from McCoy down to the entrance of Forest Trail Park in the winter. Access to Velocity will be via Brake Through across the face of Chair 3 and around the snowmaking pond.
